Are you ready for the end of 2014?

20 Nov Are you ready for the end of 2014?

peter brosse, meyers roman, emerging entrepreneurs, the presidents council foundation, small business owners, year-end strategies, small business tipsThe end of a fiscal year brings about many decisions for the small business owner. Emerging Entrepreneurs were reminded to review employee policies and tax filings among other documents as we come to the end of 2014. Here are some business documents important to review as suggested by Peter Brosse and Mario Fazio from Meyers Roman, a legal professional association, during the session on Year-End strategies for our Emerging Entrepreneurs.

  • Entity Record Book
  • Shareholder Agreement or Operating Agreement
  • Employee Handbook
  • Personnel Records
  • License agreements for software, hardware and websites
  • Loan documents
  • Catastrophe Plan
  • Estate Plan

Our EE’s questions regarding the unique issues for their businesses were also addressed, such as structure and size-specific inquiries. Reviewing these documents, even as a small business, ensures prevention of any misunderstandings or undue advantages other parties may do. It’s not a priority for the small business owner but during this last leg for the fiscal year, it’s among the need-to-do.
